places traveled roy tells tales

Over the last 7 years, I’ve had the opportunity to explore a fairly large part of India, from Ladakh & Kashmir in the North to Kerala in the South, and from Udaipur in the West to Dzukou Valley in the East.

I’ve spent a month in Bhutan where I hitchhiked from Thimphu to Paro, Punakha, and Haa Valley, as well as attended the Tsechu festival. I soaked in the beauty of ‘The Happiest Country in the World’ and experienced the goodness that prevails in the air!

I’ve extensively traveled & explored Southeast Asia, covering Bangladesh, Singapore, Langkawi (Malaysia), Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Far to the east, I’ve spent a few days on the East Coast of Oz, hopping along the beaches!

One of the most incredible journeys of my life has been the month in Kenya where I was on a volunteering trip. It has been one of the best things ever! I also traversed across the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia, which is considered to be one of the hottest parts of the world.

As I turned 30, I backpacked in Sri Lanka for about two weeks – witnessing the cultural richness that the country beholds, beyond its gorgeous beaches.

In 2022, I traveled to Turkey and South Africa with my 70-year-old aunt, and together, we explored some offbeat places in these countries.

I’m not an early planner! Most of my trips are finalized at the last minute, and I kinda’ hustle while packing my bags, book the tickets, and get going! Most of the time, I book my stay once I reach the destination – thanks to AirBnb, Make My Trip & Booking.com – life gets easy! While I enjoy traveling solo, I’ve been extremely lucky to have friends who agreed to join me for adventures (some of which even stretched for months!). And of course, I feel super happy to say that I’ve found some incredible friends in places where I traveled to, and I look forward to meeting them again – someday, somewhere.

So here I am, not just to share my experiences on the roads but also to encourage people like me, who are keen to pack their stuff and break free from the chaos & cacophony of urban life, to embrace the world out there & experience the goodness of traveling.

Stay tuned to learn more about the stories from my journeys!
