Best Quotes By Jack Kerouac

One thing that both of us are addicted to, apart from traveling, is reading books. For we believe that it’s the stories of others that enrich us and help in seeing life with a different light.

And Jack Kerouac is surely one of our favorite authors when it comes to inspiring travel stories. I still remember the days, when I had sleepless nights, flipping through the pages of On The Road” which a friend had gifted me after she came to know of my wanderlust.

The novel (On The Road) narrates the story of two main characters (one of them is Jack Kerouac himself, and the other one is his friend) who took a road trip across America between 1947 to 1950. It’s about the highs and lows of life; about how the journey on the road eventually defines the journey of life; about how we learn to accept things with time which might have appeared to be unacceptable in the beginning; about how strangers can become important characters in the story of our lives and much more.

A few months back, one day, I was sitting in the office, being a little lost and wondering where exactly life is leading me when I suddenly remembered one of his quotes, which fetched an instant smile. I’m not sure how many of you reading this article have heard of Jack Kerouac or read ‘On The Roads’, but I’m sure that his words will cast a spell on you, and inspire you to follow your heart, live better and be free.

An absolute foodie and a die-hard 'mountain-aholic', Riyanka loves to read and write! (Give her a book and she'll love you all the more!) She loves to believe in the miracles of destiny and wants to travel to places, near & far, spend time with the natives, binge on local food and absorb their culture. Life, she feels, is like a book and whatever we do adds more chapters to it. She enjoys writing about her experiences, and whatever comes her way, for she believes that each and every bit helps in making the chapters more colorful.
